The Story

As the appointed project management agency for WTT Singapore Smash 2025, KIN took on the challenge of delivering one of Asia’s premier table tennis events. Our mission extended beyond traditional event management – we were tasked with creating an unparalleled sporting experience that would set new benchmarks in fan engagement and event execution.

When WTT Singapore Smash Pte Ltd (WTT) approached KIN with their vision for a world-class table tennis event, we recognised the opportunity to push boundaries. The client’s objectives were clear: deliver state-of-the-art audio-visual experiences, build the best fan experience in sports events, and create an environment that serves both fans and players seamlessly.

Starting in August 2024, our team developed a comprehensive strategy that focused on three key areas:

1. Infrastructure and Experience Design

We conceptualised and implemented innovative elements that would distinguish WTT Singapore Smash 2025 from previous editions. The introduction of self-service fan booths and free-to-play tables was a strategic decision to transform passive spectators into engaged participants. Working with our trusted partners – A-media, DMC, and Mediapix – we ensured that every touchpoint reflected the event’s premium positioning.

2. Operational Excellence

Anticipating record attendance, we implemented robust crowd management systems. Our team worked closely with WTT and venue management to handle the significant increase in patron numbers compared to previous years. This collaborative approach proved crucial in managing many sold-out sessions and ensuring timely seating arrangements for all attendees.

3. Sustainable Event Management

Environmental responsibility was integrated into our planning from day one. We made conscious decisions to use green ink for branding materials and repurposed carpentry elements from previous years. These initiatives demonstrated our commitment to sustainable event management without compromising on quality or experience.

One of our proudest achievements was the successful management of increased attendance. When faced with larger-than-expected crowds, our team, in collaboration with WTT and venue staff, implemented efficient seating protocols that ensured smooth crowd flow without compromising the guest experience.

The addition of a Player Party to this year’s program required careful integration into the existing event framework. Our team managed this new element while maintaining focus on the core event deliverables.

The positive feedback from WTT Singapore Smash Pte Ltd and event attendees has been overwhelming, with many citing it as “one of the best experiences in sporting events.” This validation reinforces our approach to event management and our commitment to exceeding client expectations.

The success of WTT Singapore Smash 2025 has provided valuable insights for future large-scale sporting events. As project leads, we’ve identified several key learnings:

  • The importance of staying adaptable to emerging trends
  • The value of going beyond standard service expectations
  • The benefits of integrating sustainable practices from the planning stage

As a large-scale sports event project management agency, KIN is proud to have delivered an event that not only met but exceeded the client’s objectives. The success of WTT Singapore Smash 2025 demonstrates our capability to handle world-class sporting events while pushing the boundaries of innovation and sustainability.

We remain committed in all our future engagements to our philosophy of going beyond expectations and delivering excellence in every aspect of event management.
